Women’s gatherings and outdoor workshops in Wisconsin and Minnesota

Field Days are gatherings for women held on our beautiful river land in western Wisconsin—about 90 minutes from the Twin Cities. Some experiences are hands-on workshops, others are relaxed, inspirational, and restorative. Our goal is simple: to create beautiful, welcoming spaces where women can slow down, learn something new, and enjoy time outdoors together.

Field Days are intentionally limited in size to protect the land and to preserve the experience. Exact location details are shared upon registration. Browse and register for upcoming gatherings below.

MATERFIELD FIELD DAYS FAQ | Outdoor Workshops in Wisconsin

  • Materfield is located on private river land in western Wisconsin, about 90 minutes from the Twin Cities. Exact location and driving directions will be shared after registration.

  • No experience is necessary. Field Days are designed to be welcoming and accessible to beginners. Whether you’re foraging, painting, writing, or joining a movement session, the focus is on exploration and enjoyment rather than expertise.

  • Please dress for the outdoors. Comfortable, durable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and layers are recommended. Some activities involve walking on uneven ground, grassy fields, or wooded areas.

  • Participants may like to bring:

    • Water bottle

    • Bug spray and sunscreen as needed

    • Blanket or folding chair for some gatherings

    • A fully-charged phone/camera (on airplane mode to lengthen battery life)

Specific items for each Field Day are listed on the event page.

  • Materfield Field Days take place on natural river land that includes uneven terrain, wooded areas, grassy fields, and riverbanks. Participants may encounter insects and other wildlife typical of outdoor environments. If you have mobility limitations, allergies, or medical concerns, please let us know during registration so we can do our best to support your participation.

  • Field Days take place outdoors and generally proceed rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, events may be rescheduled and participants will be notified in advance.

  • Some Field Days include locally-sourced meals or picnic-style food. When food is included, it will be noted in the event description. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages unless otherwise specified.

  • Field Days are intentionally small to preserve the experience and protect the land. Most gatherings are limited to about 10–20 participants.

  • Registration is completed online. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with additional details, including directions and arrival instructions.

  • Because Field Days are small and require advance preparation, tickets are generally non-refundable. However, you may transfer your spot to another participant if needed.

  • Materfield Field Days are designed for adults. Because we gather on natural land that includes uneven terrain, open water, and areas without railings or built safety features, all participants must be able to navigate the environment independently and take responsibility for their own safety.
